In the end of Chapter 12 "Visions in the Dark" characters who are romancing with in-game companions receive a letter from the one they're romancing with.
I haven't checked if this works for Aric Jorgan and Kaliyo Djannis after they reunite with former wife and husband, but this is what the KOTFE romanceable companions write.
