Frozen in carbonite for murdering the Eternal Emperor of Zakuul you're suffering from carbonite sickness. Valkorion appears in your nightmares. Following him you finally come to the Eternal Throne where Vailyn strikes invisible you with her lightsaber.

Awakening from the carbonite dream is painful. But look - old friends came to rescue you!

In Chapter 3 Valkorion's daughter, Vaylin is  chasing you. You witness several demonstrations of her strong connection to the Force as well as some rather sadistic attitude. It appears that from now on she's seeing you as her personal foe for escaping from her.

In Chapter 3 you're for the first time facing a choice which will definitely matter in a future - to save civillians of Zakuul or to use their deaths to cover your escape.

You find out that you were imprisoned for five years and everything in the Galaxy has changed.

Choices matter
In Chapter 3 "The Outlander" there are several moments with DS/LS choice:
 - chasing you Vaylin decides to blow up a reactor which would lead to multiple casualties. You may choose to shut the reactor down (DS choice, supported by Lana Beniko) or to take an advantage of panic and escape to the extraction point (LS choice supported by koth Vortena)
 - while waiting for Koth to pick you up you'll be forced to battle with two Knights of Zakuul - Tanek and Novo. In the end of the fight you'll have a choice: to let Lana kill Tanek (DS, Lana supports) or to let them both go (LS, Lana disapproves). The irony is that Tanek dies in either case: if you let him go, Vaylin will kill him.

Companions: old and new
You get Lana Beniko as your permanent companion. Her favourite gifts are Cultural Artifacts.
You meet an old companion - Jedi Knight's Teeseven astromech droid. But it's not the time he joins you yet.

You meet Koth Vortena and HK-55, two of your future companions.
